Once the concrete has been replaced, this floor is once again seamless. The WaterGuard system goes virtually unnoticed and is a welcomed asset to the home. The Triple Safe sump pump is level with the floor and close to the wall making it minimally invasive of the useful space in this basement.
For the WaterGuard installation process to begin, the concrete near the perimeter walls was removed. Once the concrete was removed, the WaterGuard drain could be set into place.
The problem faced was occurring throughout her entire basement. This made the situation even more stressful for him and forced him to take action.
Job Stories From Ohio County, KY
Beaver Dam, KY Crawlspace Flooding Restoration and Vapor Barrier Installation
This Beaver Dam, KY home was having some smelliness issues. The homeowners had changed furnace filters, had the air ducts cleaned, and tried several other solutions before pulling back the vapor barrier in the crawlspace to discover that the crawlspace drains had failed and the crawlspace had flooded. There was over 4" of standing water in each trench and the crawlspace was covered in mold.
The homeowners promptly contacted Healthy Spaces and scheduled for Damon Cheatham to come out and evaluate the crawlspace for mold removal and waterproofing. Damon came out and he recommended a full mold remeditation. After the mold remediation, the debris would be removed and the crawlspace levelled. EZFlow drainage system would be the most effective system for this type of crawlspace flooding and Damon recommended pairing that with a SuperSump sump pump system to get the water out of the crawlspace quickly.
The homeowners were interested in making the crawlspace as efficient as possible and elected to have SilverGlo insulation installed and the subfloor joist spaces insulated. The vents were mostly filled in with brick, but there were two that were open, so Damon recommended vent covers for those. An EverLast crawlspace door would be installed over the opening and a well put around it. Finally, the entire crawlspace would be encapsulated with CleanSpace vapor barrier and a Sani-dry dehumidifier unit would condition the encapsulated space.
The entire project took 1 week to complete and the homeowners are very happy.
Moldy Crawl Space in Fordsville, KY
Crawl Spaces are cold and damp environments, a perfect place for mold to grow! For Sara in Fordsville, KY, her crawl space was doing just that. Sara first started noticing a musty smell coming from her crawlspace a couple of months ago. She didn't think too much about it at the time until she noticed that she was sneezing more and more. Sara decided it was time to call Healthy Spaces come out and give her a free inspection of her crawl space.
When her Design Specialist, Donnie, arrived he knew the first step was to understand what the problem was. Once Donnie crawled into the crawlspace, he immediately saw mold.
In order to eliminate the mold, our crews needed to create a safe work environment so no unnecessary materials could get in the way. Our cleaning process starts by applying a product that foams on contact with contaminants that provides us a with a visual to clean and restore the structural surfaces, eliminating Sara's crawlspace of mold.
Nasty Crawl Space in Reynolds Station
Homeowner Jessica from Reynolds Station, KY was experiencing water in her crawl space. She had found this out because a plumber who was recently at her home to fix problems alerted her of the issue. Jessica had never been down to her crawl space, so she had no idea what kind of shape it was in. She called Healthy Spaces to come out and check out the problems she was having.
Upon greeting the homeowner, one of our Design Specialists began his thorough inspection. He found that the old vapor barrier hadn't been doing its job which was allowing water into the crawl space. With this, mold was active in the crawl space. If the homeowner decided to finish the project with us, we would have installed CleanSpace to keep all of the water and moisture out. We also would have added a drainage system to direct the water to a new TripleSafe sump pump. A SaniDry Sedona would be the finishing touch. This is a dehumidifier that filters out all the water vapor in the air, as well as mold spores.
Hartford, KY Basement and Crawl Space Repair
Homeowner Ken, M from Hartford, KY was having issues keeping water out of his basement. The leakage was happening in many places, but especially around the perimeter and in the corners. This space is actually half basement and half crawl space. Ken had tried to fix the issues himself, but what he was doing didn't seem to be working. Healthy Spaces came recommended to him through a friend who has used our services before, so he called and scheduled a free inspection.
A System Design Specialist was sent to Ken's home to run the appointment. He recommended that Ken get a WaterGuard system, which is a drainage system around the perimeter of the basement that would lead to his new sump pump. He then recommended that Ken get CleanSpace wall system. This is a thick plastic wall covering that would keep moisture and mold out of the basement and ensure a healthy place to live. Ken agreed and has never looked back!
