A basement in Evansville, IN needed waterproofing, done to their basement when the homeowner began to have aggravated allergies and found that it could be from the basement. The bottoms of the basement walls consisted of mold spores and small water puddles on the ground. The humidity and dampness of the basement had created a thriving environment for the mold to grow, but a nightmare for the homeowner. Some mold spores produce a chemical byproduct called mycotoxins. This is a type species of mold that will compete for space with other species and in return, create chemical warfare on other molds. Having mycotoxins exist in your own home can affect your respiratory system.
Although you can not see the spores, they will leave a musty smell. To remove any mold from the basement, it has to go through mold remediation. Any mold spots are scrubbed and sprayed thoroughly. After mold remediation is completed, the homeowners have a choice as to whether or not they want annual maintenance done to monitor the area. The basement was waterproofed using CleanSpace, which will protect the vapor barrier. A WaterGuard system and TripleSafe sump pump are put in to guarantee that no water would be entering the basement. With a mold-free, water-free basement, it thrilled the homeowner to know that their health would not be at risk.

When one problem occurs, another follows. This can be relatable if you have ever dealt with a crawl space issue. A homeowner in Powderly, Kentucky wanted a FREE inspection with Healthy Spaces because mold was spotted in the crawl space. During the inspection, there was standing water on the floor of the crawl space and the air was humid, which was the main culprit of the mold formation. Not only did the crawl space need to be treated for mold, but encapsulated to prevent the problem from happening again.
The first step in creating a healthy space for the home was to treat all mold and future mold spots from spreading. Next, drainage matting is laid across the floor to allow water to flow toward the new SmartSump. The SmartSump will pump the water out of the crawl space and away from the home. A popular product that dramatically transforms the space, CleanSpace, is secured on the walls and floor. It protects the vapor barrier. The homeowner was pleased with the final results, which made us happier!

A homeowner in Bremen, Kentucky had noticed for some time that his foundation was settling. There were cracks on the outside of the home's foundation which indicated that it needed a permanent solution to stop the process from further damage to the home. What had caused the foundation to crack was the moisture in the wooden beams that held the floor up. One of the columns had thin wooden boards stuffed to keep the floor partly stable. The crawl space needed the foundation lifted and encapsulated.
One SmartJack was used to replace the concrete blocks and wooden boards that previously attempted to hold the foundation. Next, the CleanSpace and drainage matting combination is set to be completed. The drainage matting will catch water from the ground and store it in the dimples to prevent the CleanSpace that is installed on top from bubbling and flooding underneath. The water that does come through the dirt ground will be carried to the SmartSump. Once the home was stabilized and encapsulated, the homeowner was elated by the transformation.

Homeowner Judy F. was worried that she might have a foundation issue because she noticed her doors starting to stick when opening and closing. Having done previous work with Healthy Spaces years ago, she knew she needed to give them a call again.
Healthy Spaces crawl space expert Mike Rogers came out to inspect the foundation and determined that it would be best to install a few products. They agreed on putting in a CleanSpace liner. CleanSpace is a 20 mil. liner that protects against mold, mildew & is tear resistant. The crawl space door they currently have is wooden and allows humidity to get into the crawl space. So we're also going to install an EverLast crawl space door that will never rust, rot, or need paint. The EverLast door creates an airtight, waterproof seal between their crawl space and the cold or humid air outside.
Healthy Spaces will also install six SmartJacks which is a support system to help reduce more cracking of the foundation. And repair the damaged joists that are currently there. Judy can now live without worry of water coming into her crawl space thanks to the great people at Healthy Spaces!
This Greenville, KY homeowner had noticed a musty smell throughout her home. After looking in her crawl space, she saw that there was a water leak that had caused an infestation of mold throughout. With a major concern for her health, she gave Healthy Spaces a call to help with her crawl space repair.
Our Design Specialist, Donnie Stuteville, arrived at the Greenville home to evaluate her mold and crawl space problems. He concluded that removing all the old 6mil vapor barrier and replacing it with a new vapor barrier, then performing mold remediation throughout the entire crawl space would need to be implemented to correctly eliminate mold from her crawl space.
Once the job was finished, this Greenville, KY homeowner enjoyed her home without worrying about her health being affected and Healthy Spaces was happy to help!
Vickie in Bremen, KY has actually been a part of our Healthy Spaces family since 2011. She originally called us out to take a look at moisture in her crawl space. Our team installed our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, which completely seals off the house from the earth preventing and moisture or water vapor from coming up through the ground. We also installed our Smart Sump Pump which is ideal for any tight crawl space conditions, that comes equipped with an alarm. Since the original install in 2011, Vickie has continued her yearly maintenance where one of our Service Technicians comes out once a year to inspect all of the systems Healthy Spaces installed and to ensure they're all working the way that they should be.
In Graham, KY, there was a concern from a homeowner about water leaking into the basement from the walls and causing mold to grow. The water over time had caused the basement walls to lean in.
To fix the leaning walls, the PowerBrace system is designed to permanently stabilize the home’s foundation. It supports the basement walls and allows for straightening over time. The PowerBrace system is made of zinc-plated steel beams that are custom fit to the basement wall height and secured tightly against it. The mold is removed and prevented through mold remediation. To keep water from entering the basement again, a Waterguard system and TripleSafe Sump pump is installed
