Healthy Spaces Case Studies: SilverGlo Insulation in Newburgh, IN

Challenge

This Newburgh, IN home is experiencing mold growth due to water intrusion in the dirt crawlspace.  In order to combat this problem, the homeowners had installed a new vapor barrier, but they needed more help remediating the problems.  They contacted Jeff Adamec at Healthy Spaces to come out and help them design a solution to their moldy crawlspace issues.

Solution

Jeff and the homeowners decided a full mold remediation was necessary.  After that, they chose to install another vapor barrier, along with SilverGlo insulation to help increase their HVAC system's efficency by insulating the crawlspace.  The SilverGlo was also installed inbetween the joists in the subfloor, which is a common area to forget when insulating a home.  The homeowners also chose to have an Everlast Crawlspace Door installed to make the space easier to secure and more airtight.
