"14 News spoke with Travis Vaughn of Healthy Spaces, a contracting company in Evansville. He said one of the big things to do before the rain arrives is to make sure your sump pump and drainage looks to be in working order."
"If there’s water settling around the foundation that’s a big issue,” Vaughn said. “If you’re not getting your gutters cleaned on a yearly basis and they are overflowing they’re adding a lot of extra flooding around the base of the home.”
"Vaughn also said that you should make sure you have backup power for sump pumps. He said pumps and shop vacuums are the best bet to remove water when you’re dealing with a lot."
