Rain Water in the Basement in Marion, KY

In Marion, KY, Healthy Spaces received a call from a homeowner concerned about their basement's state. Whenever it rained outside, water would leak into the basement. Recently, the basement drain was not working which caused the AC water to pool. The homeowner was interested in waterproofing their basement to fix the leaky culprit.

Once you spot the problem, it's time to take action! The WaterGuard system is placed by the basement team to create a reliable drainage system.  What makes the WaterGuard system so great is the openings at the top. The openings at the top of the drain will drain water from the walls. Next, the SuperSump pump is installed. The SuperSump has a cast iron pump that is quiet, cools well, and lasts longer compared to plastic pumps. Homeowners are relieved to see such an amazing end result!

Basement and Crawl Space Encapsulation in Grayville, IL

From Forgotten to Fully Protected: Basement Transformation in Grayville, IL

This homeowner had never been in their basement and wanted it inspected and made safe. We installed a full-perimeter WaterGuard system (including under three block walls) and a SuperSump with dual feed lines, discharging to the side yard.

We encapsulated the basement and crawlspace with CleanSpace, including the staircase wall, and sealed off the main crawlspace from the porch crawlspace. Fungus Remediation Package 1 was completed in both areas, along with full debris removal.

We also sealed five vents (four exterior and one to the porch crawlspace) and installed four EverLast windows.

The result is a clean, dry, and fully protected basement and crawlspace.

Eliminating Moisture in Fredonia, KY

This homeowner in Fredonia, KY, had their basement flood years ago. Since then, they've had mold continuously growing in their closets. They've tried dehumidifier after dehumidifier and they kept burning out. Even worse, one of their children was constantly sick due to asthma. That's when they knew they needed to call the experts at Healthy Spaces to eliminate their moisture and mold problem once and for all!

Our Design Specialist, Abe Ford, quickly came to evaluate the situation. He concluded that in order to eliminate the moisture completely and keep the mold from growing back, to install a SanidDry XP Basement Air System. The SaniDry XP can remove up to 109 liters of water per day, it has an ENERGY STAR® rating, and has ductwork compatible for drying finished spaces. Because these homeowners wanted to locate the SaniDry in one place and dry air in another, we needed to duct the air by including the SaniDry XP Ducting.

Wet Basement in Sturgis, KY

Homeowner Sandy, from Sturgis KY, didn't use her basement for much. What she did use it for was the storage of miscellaneous and seasonal items. When she would go down there, she always thought it had a musty odor but didn't think of the things that could be growing in the warm and damp climate. Water would also sneak into her basement during storms and showers, occasionally leaving a puddle. Sandy finally decided to get professional help to see what could be done about these issues.

Healthy Spaces sent a Design Specialist, Bob Roberts, to Sandy's home to meet for her free inspection. During this meeting, Sandy mentioned that she wanted no more water intrusion and wanted to make her basement a healthy and safe place to be. Sandy agreed on installing a WaterGuard system. This piping system collects water at the perimeter of your basement and safely drains it into an unseen sump pump.

Sandy's basement is now clean and dry so she can use the space for storage, recreational purposes, or to finish for additional living space.

Crawl Space Mold Growing in Morganfield, KY Crawl Space

The crawl space in this Morganfield, KY home was not a place you wanted to be. It was wet and growing mold, giving the area an overall damp feeling. Since crawl spaces are the lowermost points of a home, the "Stack Effect" explains that air flows in your home from bottom to top, meaning that the mold in the crawl space can be easily breathed in by those upstairs, causing a serious problem. Homeowner Ann A. knew that her crawl space wasn't in the best shape, but she had no idea how severe the mold really was until System Design Specialist, Scott Schaum, completed an inspection on it.

Following the inspection, Scott sat down with Ann and explained the best route to take regarding cleaning up the crawl space and making her home a healthy place to be. He recommended a mold remediation treatment, and she agreed. They got it scheduled and our Mold Remediation crew was there to do the job. Our remediation process includes removing all mold-damaged materials, drying out the basement or crawl space, and thoroughly cleaning all surfaces. We use safe, effective cleaning products, and all of our technicians are trained and certified in professional mold remediation techniques that won't spread the mold in your home.
