Our customer had concerns of humidity in her crawl space and and had concerns that the plastic liner is not laid correctly. Six Mil vapor barrier easily rips and gets holes poked in it when crawling on it , this allows humidity to easily seep all throughout the crawlspace.
Client allowed us to fix her issues, so we did just that! We installed a new crawlspace liner, which is a 20 Mil thick vapor barrier to isolate the earth from the home. We installed a Sani-dry Sedona to help humidity and it also lowers the cost of bills with the humidity being controlled with our system. It is now a bright white and clean crawlspace for our homeowner in Mount Carmel, IL.
Contractor in Owensville, IN was working with the owner of a commercial building. After doing an inspection of the crawl space, he saw some major concerns that were outside his scope of work. He called Healthy Spaces to get set up for a free inspection, together they all devised a plan to ensure the crawl space problems were fixed permanently!
In the before photo, you can actually see where one of the concrete columns is leaning to the right. Additional problems we found, the crawl space jacks had no support, with mainly concrete blocks and pieces of wood "shimmied" in between the open gaps. Our foundation installers first needed to replace some of the damaged supplemental beam and joist repair before installing 8 SmartJacks in the crawl space. SmartJacks are used to permanently stabilize and level the girders and floor joists in a crawl space. They do not replace the existing columns and piers but add strength and stability to what is there.
If you'd like a permanent solution for your crawl space issues or any other foundation problem, we're ready to help you!
Mold is a serious health concern and many of the homes in the Poseville area suffer from it. Mold occurs when the indoor humidity levels are high, the area is warm, and there is organic material for the mold to feed on. This set of criteria describes crawlspaces perfectly. From the dirt floor to the wooden sub-floor joists, there is a great deal of organic material for mold to feed on. Here, you can see the mold and fungus growing along the wooden joists in this crawlspace. The whitish blobs are actually spider sacks (the closer white mark in the upper left) and fungal growth (present on second joist from the front). In the second picture, you can see the first joist has received a mold treatment and scrub down to remove the fungus. For contrast, you can still see the Mold-X treatment on the bottom of the joist, which will be scrubbed next. Mold removal isn't going to fix this crawlspace because the underlying humidity issues are still present. After the mold has been removed, the entire crawlspace will be encapsulated with CleanSpace, the most technologically advanced vapor barrier on the market. It's going to reduce water intrusion and allow the crawlspace to be "conditioned space" when a dehumidifier called a SaniDry is installed.
This basement had quite a few issues, with the main one being mold. The major issue was water entering the space, mainly through wall cracks. In a small area, a little water feels like a really big issue and a large amount of water means real trouble. The homeowners knew their basement had issues, and finally, enough was enough. They gave Healthy Spaces a call and Design Specialist, Damon Cheatham, came out to the home and did a thorough inspection.
A WaterGuard system would be installed around the perimeter of the basement to catch water and take it directly to the new TripleSafe sump pump. From there, the water would then be taken outside and released throughout the LawnScape outlet. The homeowners also decided to add IceGuard on to this in case the line would ever freeze, the water would still be able to come out of the basement.
For the appearance factor of their new, dry basement, CleanSpace was placed on all of the walls. CleanSpace wall coverings provide an economical mold and mildew resistant layer to brighten up the space, and new expertly installed egress windows allow more light in and provide an emergency escape in the event of a fire. New double pane EverLast basement windows were also installed in the basement. These windows won't ever rot, rust, or even need paint. These windows won't ever ruin your finished basement from water running in.
Foundation wall cracks are nothing to take lightly. That's why this family in Poseyville, IN called Healthy Spaces. Their foundation walls were only getting worse with time, indicating bowing or buckling walls.
We sent a System Design Specialist out to inspect their home. We determined that our patented PowerBrace system was perfect to fix this. PowerBrace is made of steel I-beams that are connected to the joists above the foundation wall to offer maximum support. After the installment of PowerBrace, this family can now feel safe in their basement and, more importantly, their home.
