Sump Pump Failure in Cloverport, KY

There was a sump pump in Cloverport, KY, that failed and the homeowners wanted to take action before it worsened. Because of the sump pump failure, the ground in the crawlspace was muddy. Some families want the ability to store keepsake items in a crawlspace if it is dry. A muddy crawlspace would make it difficult and unsafe to store papers because of the possibility of water damage. Water damage not only affects the crawlspace itself but the potential to use the space for more storage.

A Smart Sump pump was installed as well as an EZflow drain to track and remove water that would enter a crawlspace. All openings were closed off to prevent outside air and water from entering. CleanSpace was installed to be spread out on the floor and sides of the crawlspace. A CleanSpace imitates an indoor environment, making it safe to store keepsake items. The homeowners were pleased to know that the crawlspace was repaired with an additional possibility of storage in the home.

Finished Basement Wall Panels in Bicknell, IN

Homeowner from Bicknell, IN, previously had Healthy Spaces install a perimeter drain in his basement a few years back. He was now ready to see about getting his basement finished.

System Design Specialist, Chris, worked with him to design the perfect finished space he had been envisioning. Together they decided that Healthy Spaces would install our finished basement wall panels called EverLast. What makes these wall panels so great is they're specifically designed for basement environments! They cannot be damaged by moisture and will not support mold or mildew growth. This makes them completely different from drywall since it supports mold growth, will damage from moisture, and will lose insulation value when wet. The EverLast Basement Wall Panels are a cement board, covered with a textured washable vinyl finish, and the trim is all plastic, all installed over metal studs.

Kids accidentally draw on your newly finished walls? No problem, these EverLast wall panels can be washed or wiped down! Interested in transforming your dark, musty basement into a dry, beautiful, naturally private space? Take the first step by taking advantage of that unused floor space in your home, call or e-mail us today for a free inspection!

Wall Crack in Basement Wall McDaniels, KY

Tom used his home in McDaniels, KY, as his vacation home. His walkout basement had a half wall that had a crack in it and gave Healthy Spaces a call for a free, no-obligation inspection.

Our team installed 4 GeoLock Wall Anchors which are heavy-duty steel earth anchors that are embedded in stable soil away from the foundation wall. They're connected to steel wall plates with galvanized steel rods. Once tightened, the anchors hold the wall securely in place. The system can also be tightened during dry seasons to further straighten walls over time.

Bowing or cracked walls? Foundation settling? Healthy Spaces can help! We specialize in basement waterproofing, crawl space and foundation repair, mold remediation, and total basement finishing! We serve Falls of Rough, Hardinsburg, Fordsville, Reynolds Station, Hawesville, and many other surrounding areas in Kentucky and Indiana!

Leitchfield, KY Discharge Line Installation

One of the most important features of a good sump pump system is the discharge line.  The Healthy Spaces installation team is putting in solid, rigid PVC discharge line.  A rigid discharge line will not crush or deform when the fill soils are replaced and the soil is tamped down.  Second, a good discharge system needs to be resistant to freezing.  The Healthy Spaces team installed ice guards on this discharge system to prevent freezing and cracking.  Third, a discharge line needs to direct water as far as possible from the foundation to prevent groundwater from flowing back into the basement.  Fourth, a discharge line needs to have a safe, effective, and clog resistant end cap.  The Healthy Spaces team is installing lawnscapes at the ends of these discharge lines.

Muddy Crawlspace Transformed to a CleanSpace

In these photos, you can easily see the CleanSpace difference! When the Healthy Spaces installation removed the layer of tar paper from the crawlspace, they discovered an extremely muddy crawlspace floor. In fact, the mud was very slippery and smelly.

In order to isolate the crawlspace and the house from the muddy ground and wet outside air, Cleanspace was installed. CleanSpace is an engineered film designed against rips, tears, and water on top of the liner. it's guaranteed for 25 years!

In the second picture, you can see the CleanSpace being installed in the crawlspace. Once the installation is complete, the crawlspace will actually be a conditioned space, which will increase energy efficiency--saving money on cooling and heating, and increasing indoor air quality.
