The efflorescence present on these bricks indicates a seasonal influx of water into the crawlspace. This gives us a clue as to the possible cause of the sagging floor over the crawlspace.
Efflorescences can occur in natural and built environments. On porous construction materials it may present a cosmetic problem only (primary efflorescence), but can sometimes indicate serious structural weakness (secondary efflorescence).
