These Wadesville, IN homeowners were struggling against a nasty, smelly, musty crawlspace with periodic flooding for years. They finally decided to have Healthy Spaces remediate and transform their crawlspace by installing a new door, CleanSpace vapor barrier, water removal system with SuperSump sump pump, and a full mold remediation.
The feature that truly makes the most visual difference is the new Everlast Crawlspace Entry door. As you can see in the above picture, the crawlspace entry was originally blocked with a painted piece of plywood. The problem with plywood, and any organic material, is that it degrades so quickly in the elements. The wood warps and swells, causing the paint to chip and bubble. The whole entry becomes an eyesore very quickly. On top of that, it becomes a petry dish for mold and fungus and is very inefficient energy-wise.
The new Everlast crawlspace door is a durable plastic that won't warp, bubble, bend, or fade through the seasons. It maintains its shape and keeps a consistent seal along the entryway, allowing the crawlspace itself to remain drier and temperature constant than previously. As you can see, it's a neutral shade that attractively blends with the home and it will remain that way for years to come.
Homeowner Kent W. from Cadiz, KY hadn't been down in his crawl space in years, and quite frankly, he didn't want to be. He knew that his crawl space was in good condition when he bought his home 15 years ago, but recently noticed a stronger smell of mold in his home. He couldn't pinpoint exactly where the smell was coming from but decided to give Healthy Spaces a call to fight the problem. Kent knew that the health and safety of his family was his top priority and would do anything to get this mold controlled.
Design Specialist, Jason Dausmann, came to Kent's home to complete an inspection. Mold remediation would need to be done in the crawl space to make the home healthy again. Our crews came out and did just that. Now, Kent and his family have a healthy home to live in, without worrying about the health risks that come along with the mold.
Your home is your largest investment- financially and emotionally. Fix the problem, like Kent did, before it becomes a nightmare.
Homeowner from Cadiz, KY began noticing cracks in her drywall upstairs. In a certain area of her home, the floors were also bouncy. Healthy SPaces quickly came to the rescue and decided the best plan of action would be to install SmartJacks. The adjustable design of our crawl space jack system means that sagging floors can not only be stabilized; they can also be restored to their original position in many cases. The SmartJack system is the only solution that addresses problem soils during crawl space restabilization!
Homeowner Chris S. had reoccurring water problems in his basement, but couldn't figure out why. He had a sump pump to get the water out, but it wasn't doing its job. He tried every solution he thought was possible, but every time it rained he found himself worrying about his basement. In the before photo, you can see that his sump pump didn't have a lid. It is very important to have an airtight sump lid to prevent water from evaporating into your basement. A lid is also important to stop stuff from falling into the sump and clogging it.
For this homeowner, our design specialist installed a new TripleSafe Sump Pump system to keep the basement dry. This sump pump includes an airtight lid, a floor drain, a pump stand, and a pump alarm. The alarm lets homeowners know if their pump has failed and they're in danger of being flooded. The water that enters through the sump pump will then be discharged through 2 lines from the basement and away from the home.
This Cynthiana, IN homeowner wanted to make her basement a liveable area of her home. With one of their children moving home from college, they needed to make the basement bedroom up to code and a safe place to be. The window that was currently in the room wouldn't be easily accessible if a fire occurred, so they gave Healthy Spaces a call.
The solution was a new Egress basement window customized by one of our System Design Specialist to fit the area. The new basement window is a double thermopane Low-E glass insulates the space, while the attractive frame survives for years without rotting or needing paint. From here, the homeowner installed a RockWell Window Well to add beauty to your finished basement while also achieving compliance with local safety codes for emergency escape. Its stylish, all-natural look durable clear cover invites natural sunlight to flow into the basement while also providing an open, comfortable feel.
