Starr N. from Lewisport, KY was having issues with her floors. She had noticed that they were beginning to slope, creak, and felt uneven. As if the creaking floors weren't enough, she also noticed a musty smell worsening over time, which she thought could be mold.
System Design Specialist, Mike McAtee, came to Starr's home to provide her with a free no-obligation inspection. He did a thorough inspection of her crawl space, as well as her main floor. When he was finished, he proposed a solution for the sagging floor. He recommended that SmartJack Stabilizers be installed. These are steel support systems used to stabilize and level the girders and floor joists in a crawl space. This is the best opportunity to lift the above floors and walls back to their original position. This would be a permanent solution, unlike the light-duty jack posts that were currently in the crawl space. These don't work because they can hold very little weight, are difficult to adjust, and don't address the most important problem- the weak foundation soils below.

Our client in Lewisport, KY began experiencing a bouncy, squeaky floor. After calling Healthy Spaces for a free inspection, it was discovered they had concrete blocks stacked on top of the footer, with wooden "shims" wedged in at the top to fill any empty space. This solution doesn't work because as the concrete columns later settle into the soil below, additional shims may need to be added. In other words, this is a repair that will never permanently be fixed!
Our team replaced some of their supplemental beams and installed 5 SmartJacks. The SmartJack system addresses a solid base of engineered fill to distribute the weight of the home. Galvanized steel columns are cut to length, set on a cast of aluminum footing and secured to existing girders or supplemental beams with adjustable top brackets.
Whitesville, KY homeowner Ashlee K. had noticed that the dehumidifier in their vault room was no longer working. They purchased it from a big name box store, and it obviously didn't do its job. Without the dehumidifier running and filtering the air, the moisture was at an all-time high. It caused mold growth in their basement, which could also lead to illness and awful smells. Once they began to notice the mold, the panicked. They didn't want their home to be unhealthy, so they gave us a call.
Design Specialist, Damon Cheatham, was sent to the home to complete a thorough inspection. He concluded that the dehumidifier wasn't doing its job and recommended that it definitely be replaced with a SaniDry XP Upright Dehumidifier which removes up to 109 liters of water per day. The latest generation of SaniDry dehumidifiers is more powerful and energy-efficient than ever! Each one includes a comprehensive, written warranty upon installation.
Grant B. of Ferdinand, IN, would get water entering her basement through the west wall during a heavy downpour. A friend of hers had used Healthy Spaces in the past to waterproof their basement so she decided to give us a call. We did a free, no-obligation inspection for her and together decided the next plan of action was to waterproof the west corner and install a TripleSafe Sump Pump, along with WaterGuard, a discharge line, and IceGuard.

Homeowner in Beaver Dam, KY, was interested in getting an estimate for a new vapor barrier. Having heard from friends and family in Beaver Dam who had work done from us, they decided to give Healthy Spaces a call.
We installed CleanSpace vapor barrier, which is a durable, bright white crawl space liner that installs on the walls and floors, preventing water vapor and humidity from passing by. By keeping their crawl space dry, they're protecting their structure from mold and rot.
