System Design Specialist, Mike McAtee, came to Starr's home to provide her with a free no-obligation inspection. He did a thorough inspection of her crawl space, as well as her main floor. When he was finished, he proposed a solution for the sagging floor. He recommended that SmartJack Stabilizers be installed. These are steel support systems used to stabilize and level the girders and floor joists in a crawl space. This is the best opportunity to lift the above floors and walls back to their original position. This would be a permanent solution, unlike the light-duty jack posts that were currently in the crawl space. Our client in Lewisport, KY began experiencing a bouncy, squeaky floor. After calling Healthy Spaces for a free inspection, it was discovered they had concrete blocks stacked on top of the footer, with wooden "shims" wedged in at the top to fill any empty space. This solution doesn't work because as the concrete columns later settle into the soil below, additional shims may need to be added.
