Clayton in Boonville, IN was sick and tired of dealing with his crawl space problem. He would get water in his crawl space every time it rained and didn't have a drainage system with a sump pump in his crawl space. Because of the standing water, it eventually led to mold as well, which created a very unhealthy environment.
After seeing our TV commercial, he gave the crawl space repair experts at Healthy Spaces. When it comes to keeping water out of your crawl space, you need a high-quality sump pump system that's designed specifically for crawl spaces. Our team installed our SmartSump Crawl Space sump Pump that comes equipped with a reliable liner, a sump alarm, and an optimal battery backup sump pump. This is exactly what you need to ensure a dry crawl space all the time!
Besides the water, you must remove the water vapor. To accomplish this, our team installed our crawl space vapor barrier, CleanSpace! The CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system completely seals and isolates your house from the earth.
Healthy Spaces is your trusted leader in creating healthy homes! We specialize in basement waterproofing, unhealthy crawl space environments, foundation repair, and mold remediation.
This Boonville homeowner was worried about excess moisture and humidity in their crawl space, along with debris buildup and fungal growth that threatened the home’s comfort, air quality, and structural wood.
The crawl space is now clean, dry, and properly protected. Debris was removed, fungal growth was remediated, and the space was fully encapsulated with CleanSpace and drainage matting. An airtight SmartSump liner with alarms, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, sealed and insulated vents and rim joists, and a new EverLast door now work together to control moisture, improve air quality, and give the homeowner long-term peace of mind.
Richland, IN homeowner Erin T. knew her crawl space wasn't in the best shape when she bought her home a few years ago. As time passed, she noticed her home gradually gaining a musty odor she didn't like. Every time she would come home and open the door, the smell would hit her. She gave Healthy Spaces a call and we set her up a free inspection.
One of our System Design Specialists, Mike McAtee, came to the rescue! He did a thorough inspection of Erins crawl space and sat down with her to discuss what he found. First of all, mold. This is what was causing the musty odor in her home. He recommended sending our mold crew out to remediate it, and she agreed. Along with that, he recommended having her crawl space encapsulated with CleanSpace. This durable, bright white crawl space liner installs on the walls and floors, preventing water vapor and humidity from passing through. By keeping your crawl space dry, you protect your structure and insulation from mold and rot.
Thanks to our crews, Erin can now walk into her home without a horrid smell hitting her.
Homeowner John R. of Owensboro, KY needed a solution for his damp, dirty crawl space. Over the years, the space had become a mess, sending unwanted smells into their home above. After consulting a neighbor, they made a call to Healthy Spaces and System Design Specialist, Auston Bruder provided him with a free inspection.
The mold and crawl space crews were able to remediate the mold and encapsulate the crawl space using our CleanSpace liner. This transformed the crawl space into a dry, bright usable area beneath their home. John doesn't notice any nasty smells coming from his crawl space anymore and is very pleased with the way his project turned out.
A homeowner in Utica, KY was concerned about their home sinking, so our crew completed several repairs to stabilize and protect the crawl space. We installed a SmartSump pump system with a cast iron pump, CleanPump stand, airtight lid, and WaterWatch alarm, along with a StarPipe drainage system and discharge line with IceGuard and a LawnScape outlet to properly move water away from the home. The alarm system was wired from the crawl space to an accessible location on the first floor. We performed fungus remediation by cleaning and treating the wood, removed debris and the old vapor barrier, and installed new 6-mil plastic to help control moisture. We also installed an EverLast crawl space door and spray foam insulation at the rim joists. To address the structural concerns, we installed a supplemental beam, added SmartJack supports to stabilize the floor system, sistered new wood to a damaged joist, and reinforced the main girder beam to provide additional support.
