Basement Waterproofing Before & After Photos

his homeowner in Mount Carmel, IL had a musty smell in their basement. They had no water issues in their basement but they have a small crawl space under their home that they never went into. They finally said "enough is enough," and decided to call Healthy Spaces.

We encapsulated the crawl space with a CleanSpace encapsulation and put spray foam in the rim joists of the crawl space to keep the area sealed. We also installed our Ultimate Energy Savings package, which includes SilverGlo wall insulation panels to keep heat in and create a vapor barrier.

These homeowners in Mount Carmel, IL, were experiencing a lot of water in their basement whenever it would rain, that is until Healthy Spaces came and permanently waterproofed their basement. The Healthy Spaces team also installed CleanSpace liner to the foundation walls, waterproofed the perimeter with WaterGuard and installed our innovative and effective TripleSafe sump pump. When this Mount Carmel, IL homeowner noticed that his downspouts from his gutters were only pouring rainwater into his foundation, he knew he needed a solution. He of course wanted to keep his basement dry and free of mold and a way to make sure that happened was to find alternate discharge lines. He gave us a call to see what we could offer.

Bob Breadhold, one of our Design Specialists, met with the homeowner and discussed what we could do for the homeowner. After an inspection, they agreed that 3 lawnscape outlets would be the best solution. This outlet enables downspout water to escape with virtually no pitch. This is a discharge line buried under the ground so it takes rainwater away from the home. After it is installed, the grass will grow back over it and all that will be seen is the outlet. 

Clint B. from Mt. Carmel, IL was in major need of help in his basement. He has always had water issues, and he was starting a list of what needed to be done to his home. The water in the basement was high on the list, so he decided to give Healthy Spaces a call to come to inspect his home after reading reviews online. 

We send a Design Specialist out to Clint's home to perform a free inspection. He then sat down with the homeowner to discuss what needed to be done, and what products could do that for him. First, the mold was cleaned out of the basement to prepare a healthy environment. The basement got a brand new waterproofing system to keep the water out, as well as CleanSpace covering the basement walls. This wall system economically brightens your basement, as well as prevents mold growth.  Installing these products will keep their basement dry no matter what weather their house encounters.

This basement had quite a few issues, with the main one being mold. The major issue was water entering the space, mainly through wall cracks. In a small area, a little water feels like a really big issue and a large amount of water means real trouble. The homeowners knew their basement had issues, and finally, enough was enough. They gave Healthy Spaces a call and Design Specialist, Damon Cheatham, came out to the home and did a thorough inspection. 

A WaterGuard system would be installed around the perimeter of the basement to catch water and take it directly to the new TripleSafe sump pump. From there, the water would then be taken outside and released throughout the LawnScape outlet. The homeowners also decided to add IceGuard on to this in case the line would ever freeze, the water would still be able to come out of the basement. 

For the appearance factor of their new, dry basement, CleanSpace was placed on all of the walls. CleanSpace wall coverings provide an economical mold and mildew resistant layer to brighten up the space, and new expertly installed egress windows allow more light in and provide an emergency escape in the event of a fire. New double pane EverLast basement windows were also installed in the basement. These windows won't ever rot, rust, or even need paint. These windows won't ever ruin your finished basement from water running in.
