Basement Wall Finishing in Evansville, IN

This homeowner in Evansville, IN, kept experiencing water in their home every time it would rain. Having to deal with water intrusion in your basement is bad enough - but when the basement is finished, it's much worse! The bottom of the finished walls were damaged and if not taken care of, mold may appear. That's when they decided to give Healthy Spaces a call to solve the problem.

Our System Design Specialist, Bob Roberts, quickly came to evaluate the situation. Aside from waterproofing the basement, he also suggested installed our EverLast Finished Wall Restoration System. When you don't want to rip out your entire finished basement, and have to restore the bottom of your finished walls anyway, EverLast wall panels are the perfect solution!

In order to fix the water problem properly, and protect finished walls in the future, it is necessary to cut the bottom of the finished walls and install a proper drainage system. Then the basement is protected from future water intrusion. But what then? The finished walls need to be restored.

With this method, there is no drywall, paint, or wood to get ruined if it ever gets wet. The panels are cement board, covered with a textured washable vinyl finish, and the trim is all plastic, all installed over metal studs.

Discharge Line in Evansville, IN

One of the most important features of any waterproofing system is a reliable, properly installed discharge line. A discharge line needs to insure that the water is removed from the crawlspace without clogging, freezing, or allowing the water back into the crawlspace.

In these pictures you can see that the discharge line is going far out into the homeowner's side yard to discharge the water over 30' from the basement foundation wall. This will keep the water from flowing back into the basement and creating a constant problem.

In addition, this discharge line has an IceGuard at the point where the discharge line exists the basement. An IceGuard will keep the discharge line from clogging or freezing during the winter months.

As you can see in the Before picture, the Healthy Spaces team has carefully removed the existing sod and placed it on black plastic, then they have dug out the discharge line and piled that soil on the black plastic as well. This will make it extremely easy for the crew to restore the yard.

In the After picture, you can see, or barely see, where the discharge line was installed. The dirt was replaced and tamped down, then the sod was replaced over the line as well. Once the sod reestablishes its rootbase, the discharge line will be invisible to the naked eye.

Henderson, KY Flooding Basement Gets New Sump Pump System

These Henderson, KY homeowners were at their wits end!  They had constant basement flooding the last two weeks and prior to that, seasonal flooding that had ruined the walls and floor of the basement, laundry room, and garage.

After meeting with a dry basement expert from Healthy Spaces, the homeowners realized that they could have an interior drainage system installed in about 4 days that would leave their basement, laundry room, and garage dry all the time.

First, the Healthy Spaces installation team cut trenches into the perimeter of the three flooding areas, even around tricky corners and a curved fireplace.  Next, they installed a Waterguard interior drainage system and hooked it up to a powerful Zoeller sump pump system.

In these two pictures, you can see where Steven Joseph and his installation team battled severe water intrusion to install the sump pump in the best location to remove all the water from the basement.  In the After picture, you can see what a difference the right system can make!  The basement is already dry and the system installation isn't quite finished yet!

Total Basement Transformation in Slaughters, KY

Mary L. from Slaughters, KY was experiencing water in her basement, especially when there was heavy rain. She would have her shop vac ready to clean up all the water. Countless hours were spent worrying about what would happen to her basement if she wasn't there because many important documents, as well as memories, were stored there.

Upon receiving Mary's call for help, Design Specialist, Damon Cheatham was scheduled to do a thorough inspection of her basement. When he arrived, they greeted each other with a smile and the work began. He recommended that a new drainage system be installed to prevent any more leaking. This drainage system would be under the concrete, so it wouldn't be noticeable. It runs straight to the new TripleSafe sump pump that was also installed. The CleanSpace vapor barrier on the walls helps protect and keep the space dry, as well as prevent mold growth.

Basement Water Intrusion in Mortons Gap, KY

Drywall in a basement can pose a serious threat when installed because it's made of organic materials. Concrete is a porous material, so when you have concrete walls, moisture can seep through and on to the drywall. This can cause the drywall to distort and warp, and even worse, can cause mold to grow.

Our Design Specialist, Bob Roberts, worked with these homeowners in Mortons Gap, KY, to design a system to stop water intrusion in their basement. After installing the waterproofing system, Healthy Spaces installed our Total Basement Finishing products to ensure that their investment will withstand any water damage.

In the after photo, our team installed EverLast Wall Panels around the foundation, offering a finished look that offers insulation and a clean space. Beautiful trim and crown molding were installed to complete the finished look for these homeowners in Mortons Gap, KY, giving them a properly waterproofed, finished basement!
