In Tell City, IN a homeowner contacted us regarding bowing walls in his basement. According to the homeowner, it has been that way for 40 years but has recently been getting worse. This issue called for professionals like Healthy Spaces to take care of the problem!
Basement walls not only support the weight of your home but also resist pressure from soil, moisture, and other forces. It is made from carbon fiber-reinforced polymers with a tensile strength that is much stronger than steel. Once this system was installed, the homeowner saw a HUGE improvement!
When the floors in your home start to sag, your home's foundation is at risk. In Evansville, Indiana, a homeowner became concerned for his safety when he noticed a wall in his basement bending and causing the living room floor to sag. A prospect in Evansville, Indiana, contacted Healthy Spaces regarding his basement. The commercial property had a basement that had severe leaking alongside the walls. The floor above had sagging floors, that needed to be held up. The owner was interested in waterproofing and repairing the foundation.
To collect any water that would enter the basement, the WaterGuard System was installed alongside the walls. This system has a built-in 3/8-inch gap between the floor and the wall to drain wall leaks. It will carry the water toward the sump pump. Lastly, the sagging floor was held up using the SmartJack system. Heavy-duty SmartJacks addresses weak foundation soils, or the effects changing moisture conditions can have on these soils. It lifted the above floors back toward their original position. Having a safe foundation and a reliable water system left the owner feeling satisfied. It was a job well done!

The push pier system is a great system when lifting the home back up to its original position. To install the system, the soil needs to be removed from around the foundation's footing, where the pier will be installed. Next, a specially engineered steel bracket is placed under the footing for the steel pier sections to be driven through. The weight of the home will then be transferred from the concrete foundation, through the steel bracket and piers, to the deep load-bearing soil or bedrock. The family felt a sense of peace that their home would not be a risk anymore.
In Evansville, Indiana a homeowner reach out to Healthy spaces needing a quote. His basement had water leaking in due to a rainstorm that happened recently. During the inspection, stair-step cracking on the walls was present which was partly the culprit behind the water leaking in. The foundation needed to be repaired along with waterproofing the walls and installing a drainage system.
The WaterGuard system was installed to catch any water that seeped through the walls. It will then carry the water toward the SuperSump pump. This handy system is covered with cement while flooring can be laid on top for a finished look. CleanSpace was put on the walls to protect the vapor barrier and direct water vapor to the WaterGuard. Two separate foundation repair products were put in to fix inwards bowing on the lower halves of the walls or on the upper parts. The GeoLock Channel Anchors and GeoLock Wall Anchors were the best choices for this issue. Once the project was completed, the homeowner was safe to store items in his basement again!
